WELCOME
TO THE ONLINE TUTORING CENTER!
Fall
Tutoring
Begins September 8, 2008
Stuck on a problem? Can't figure out why your program
won't compile? Having difficulty understanding your homework assignment
or laboratory exercise? Need help to improve your grade? And, the
tutoring centers are closed or you are a distance learning
student!!!
You
can get assistance with these problems and more through CCAC's online
tutoring. Online tutoring involves tutors and members of the faculty
who choose to conduct some of their office hours over the Internet.
This service, which is free to all registered CCAC students, uses
search engines for frequently asked questions (FAQs), chat rooms,
conferencing, and message boards.
CCAC's
tutors have been chosen for demonstrated excellence in their academic
area and for their commitment to student success. Here, you will
receive professional, courteous, step-by-step assistance.
Of
course, an instructor is an excellent resource for help with your
class. All instructors who have online office hours are more than
happy to answer questions.
LOCATING
A TUTOR OR A MEMBER OF THE FACULTY
Select an academic discipline from the list to the
left. A new page will appear with drop-down lists of available tutors
and faculty members. When you choose a name, a page for that person
will appear. Near the bottom of that page you will find a link to
the weekly calender of chat sessions. For a list of disciplines

OTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE THROUGH ONLINE TUTORING AT CCAC
In
addition to chat sessions and conferencing, the tutoring center
provides other online services that include archives of frequently
asked questions and message boards.
Frequently
Asked Questions
have been placed into an archive by tutors and faculty from their
online sessions. You may find answers to your questions without
having to join a chat of conference sessions by searching archive.
A search engine is provided for each academic area.
Message Boards can be used to post your questions
without having to join a chat or conferencing session. Each tutor
and faculty member has a message board. Answers to your questons
will be posted to the message board within 24 hours. All messages
will remain posted for 7 days.
