| IN-HOUSE TUTORING
at the Allegheny Campus
Fall Tutoring
Begins September 2, 2008
The Allegheny Campus Tutorial Services office is located in the
Learning Center (L406). Tutoring is free and available to
all students registered for credit courses. When they arrive for
the first time, students will be required to fill out an intake
form, which is done once each semester. Forms can be obtained
at the Appointments Desk. As soon as this form is completed, students
may be tutored in the courses they are taking that semester.
Individual appointments (one per subject per
week) are available Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Tutors are also on duty for walk-in sessions in math and
English Monday through Friday (times vary each semester). This feature
allows students to supplement their appointment as often as they
like if they have quick questions. Occasionally, special workshops
are given. Students seeking help in computer courses are tutored
in the Learning Center Tutorial Computer Lab rather than having
to go to the 5th Floor Computer Suite. NOTE:
This lab is strictly for tutoring purposes only. In order to use
it, students must be accompanied by a tutor and in a tutorial session.
For general computer use, students are to go to campus labs.
For those taking evening or Saturday classes, evening
tutoring is available Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm to
6:00pm. Saturday tutoring is available from 10:00am to 2:00pm
in various subjects with at least one math and English tutor available
each of these days. No appointments are necessary for evening or
Saturday sessions. Students simply sign the clipboard as tutoring
is done on a first-come, first-served basis.
