ONLINE TUTORING
in the Discipline,
JOURNALISM
Online instructional support in JOURNALISM
involves tutoring and faculty office hours to help students with
concepts, homework assignments, exam preparations, and term projects
through chat rooms, message boards, and a Frequently-Asked-Questions
(FAQ) search engine. To obtain help in prerequisites and corequisites
to Journalism courses, please choose the appropriate discipline
in the table of contents to the left.
You may search for key information or answers to
your questions through online-tutoring's data base of FAQ.
Only students registered for online tutoring have access to this
facility.
Tutors are available throughout the week. To reach
a tutor, choose online tutoring schedule. A weekly calendar
will appear in a popup window. The initials of tutors will be in
time slots when they are scheduled to be online. The caption to
the calendar identifies each tutor by name. The initials are linked
to the tutor's chat room and message board through a biography page.
Members of the Journalism Faculty who have chosen
to chosen to conduct some of their office hours online for their
students can be accessed through the link to Online Faculty Office
Hours. You must obtain a username and password from your instructor
to use this feature.
As an option, you may post your question(s) to the
message board of a tutor or instructor if that person is not online
to conduct a chat room at the time you need help. You should find
a response to your question in a timely manner. Just as the FAQ
search engine and chat rooms, the message boards are password protected.
